ABOUT THE AUTHOR

John Bellinger has had a lifelong interest in horticulture. He received four years training with Derby Parks, three years spent in the plant propagation unit caring for tropical plants. In order to advance his career, he spent a further two years studying the subject at Pershore College, Worcestershire. For many years he ran his own garden planning, landscaping and maintenance business, and later developed a nursery growing plants which he sold to garden centres and fl orists. In recent years he has taken an interest in the history of ancient Egyptian gardens having visited Egypt and many of the well known historic sites, tombs and museums including The Cairo Museum of Agriculture, which inspired him to write this book.
